Who Picks the Referees? Does it really matter?
If....You are a Carolina fan, and you were watching the Carolina-Clemson game, and IF you found out that Clemson coaches had hired and selected the referees, and IF you discovered that the Clemson coaches decided the pay for their hand chosen referees, and that they had the power to terminate those referees, would you expect the game to be called fairly?
OF COURSE NOT!
Yet that is exactly how our judicial system in South Carolina works!
Lawyer-legislators, men and women who argue cases in front of the judges, hire, decide the pay for, and decide whether they keep their jobs when they come up for reelection.
That is NOT JUSTICE! That IS a conflict of interest at its worst.
On Saturday, November 15, 2025, at 10 a.m. at Seawell's Restaurant in Columbia,
I am holding a Press Conference on Judicial Reform.
The five Republican candidates for governor and the three candidates for Attorney General have been invited to speak.
Join us!
We the People need to tell the South Carolina General Assembly that it is time to end the unjust way our justice system is chosen.
Please share this information with your family, your neighbors, and your Facebook friends.
Once "The People" learn how our judges are selected, they are always shocked.
Just an FYI:
Nationwide, the average percentage of lawyers serving the state legislatures is 14%.
South Carolina? 30%!
Ever wonder why they love to serve?
Another interesting statistic:
.25% (that's one quarter of one percent of our working population in South Carolina are lawyers.
Does having 30% of your legislators from one profession feel like "Representative" government?
