Chaos in Kershaw

The more we’ve spoken out about the establishment’s disregard for our party rules and grassroots voices, the more reports we’ve received from brave members across South Carolina who are witnessing the same behavior in their own counties.

What follows is one such report from multiple eyewitnesses detailing events in the Kershaw County GOP that reflect the same pattern of power preservation, rule-breaking, and intimidation used to silence conservatives.

On October 2, there was a non-business meeting where Chairman Drew McKissick was speaker.

After McKissick left, Chairwoman Autumn Dunlap's husband, Kad, motioned to enter an EC meeting. This was in violation of the 24-hour notice period required.

Kad Dunlap then motioned to have three people banned from meetings, including 5th District Chair Sheri Few. And another person had to apologize or they would be banned as well. This passed.

Kad Dunlap motioned to have the 3rd Vice Chair and Secretary removed. This passed.

Fast forward to October 21, there was a special called meeting. The chairwoman refused to start the meeting in a timely manner, so the body passed a motion for the 2nd Vice Chair to preside. The chairwoman then decided to preside over the meeting anyway. Multiple motions were passed that included invalidating the previous meeting and all of the actions that had taken place.

Pictured here is when the chairwoman tried to have members removed by the police. She attempted to have Sheri Few removed even though she held the lease on the building. The police declined to get involved.

There was an attempt to adjourn the meeting and the chairwoman only counted the yes votes, and counted herself as the tiebreaking vote. The chairwoman and her allies left and the meeting continued.

Lexington, Darlington, Pickens, Charleston, Kershaw… the list goes on and on.

This isn’t about one county. It’s about a culture of control that’s infected the SCGOP from the top down.

But truth doesn’t bow to titles, and light will ALWAYS expose what darkness tries to hide.

In January, I’ll be speaking at the Kershaw County Freedom Caucus meeting to stand with those who refuse to be intimidated. County by county, we’ll keep pulling back the sheet on this tangled cast of pharisaical bedfellows.

They can wield their censures, suspensions and call their cops. But they can’t outrun the reckoning already written.
