Dear Pickens Republicans

Dear Fellow Pickens Republicans,

It is with frustration and anger that I report the Pickens County Republican Party has been "suspended." On June 7 at the State EC meeting, a motion was brought to restrict Pickens County Republican Party from engaging in any party activities until a plan is approved by the State EC's in September. State GOP leadership recognized they did not have the 75% majority required under the rules to dissolve the PCRP so they voted to suspend us until September and hope we disengage. Despite prior communications from Drew's office to the contrary, this was clearly a coordinated effort by state GOP leadership to punish Pickens County for daring to oppose State GOP leadership. The implication of this "suspension" is that your elected leadership is not authorized to host any activities, use the PCRP logo, website or checkbook. This unprecedented action by the SCGOP is not allowed by the SC Republican Party rules and we are in the process of reviewing all options to fight this draconian measure and resolve it as soon as possible.

The upcoming PCRP BBQ will be cancelled for next Saturday per this "suspension". However, we invite anyone that is interested to come join your fellow republicans for a Pickens Republicans Stand United (PRSU) BBQ on Saturday, June 14 at 4PM to discuss this and other important issues with fellow conservatives.
