Lexington GOP leadership weaponizes against opposition

Isaiah 54:17

I have had many adventurous days in the political world. Last night was a first. Bear with me.

It started innocently enough, until we received a report from our Lexington County GOP County Credentialing Chairman. He proceeded to share three appeals that happened last Friday evening, the eve of Saturday's State Republican Convention. Those appeals included Charleston, Darlington and Pickens County. Our Credentialing Chairman voted with the majority in all three.

I chose to utilize my fiduciary responsibility as my precinct's committeeman to begin a line of questioning regarding Pickens County. After two questions and completely dismantling the premise for removing an entire county from the convention, Party Chairman Weber shut down my line of questioning and ended discussion on the appeals report.

Fast forward to just a little bit later during new business, the body passed the resolutions the party had shared with us several days earlier. Then... there was a new resolution. Party leadership introduced a censure of John Allen, Sarah Grace Allen and myself.

The ambush essentially was meant to punish us for being opposition candidates in this year's county party elections - and having the audacity to be open and transparent on the issues and using tools to share that message. Our campaign strategies were open, and the opposite of the behind-the-scenes, vile, smear campaign Chairman Weber and his team exhibited.

On the heels of yet another SCGOP convention being rammed through and disallowing questions about very consequential votes at the state level by our County Credentialing Chairman (who also introduced our censure), how does this make our party leadership any different than the senile authoritarian we just removed as president?

This is a blatant authoritarian attack on free speech.

𝐆𝐨𝐝 𝐫𝐞𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐬 𝐬𝐮𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐞. Although we were completely blindsided by this censure attempt, John, Sarah Grace and I were able to promptly make our case, speak truths and explain the nasty tactics from leadership during this process. Ultimately, the body TABLED the censure motion against us. As of this writing, we still haven't seen this censure resolution.

The result of this irresponsible and nasty attack on us by leadership resulted in chaos when the meeting was adjourned, with the chairman instigating much of it as usual, possiblely losing access to a venue that has provided a good home for our party.

Hear me now. Those who attempt to silence us only make us stronger and confirm the very issues they are attempting to silence. No matter how hard you try to destroy our principles and our careers, we've seen it before, and we will prosper.

Our freedom agenda will not be silenced. Come join us.
