Chaos and lawlessness abounds in the SCGOP

THE LAW IS GOOD.

IT IS IN PLACE TO PROTECT OUR FREEDOMS, LIBERTIES, AND RIGHTS. IN THE ABSENCE OF THE LAW, CHAOS AND LAWLESSNESS ABOUNDS

Dear South Carolina Republicans, for the past several years we have experienced pure chaos and madness at the SCGOP State Conventions. For that reason, many people have walked away from Re-Org and will not participate in SCGOP events. Others have complained that they were “railroaded” at the State Conventions. My personal grievance is that we were robbed of our votes.

One major reason for this villainy in our Party, is the current state chair, Drew McKissick, has purposely and systematically violated State Law. Yes, State Law. If you look at the SCGOP Rules, State Law is cited throughout.

1) SC Code of Laws – Title 7 – Chapter 9, Section 7-9-100, clearly states: “…The convention must be composed of delegates elected by the county conventions…”

The Law clearly says “…must be elected…”

Here’s the beginning of the debacle. In many Counties, for the purposes of re-electing Drew McKissick, have purposely violated this Law. In 2023, the State Convention was full of so-called delegates who were never elected.

SCGOP Rule 4(c)(11), clearly states: "The county chairman shall also set a date for a make-up meeting no later than five (5) days prior to the county convention for precincts that have failed to organize or re-organize or that need to conduct further business, including the ability of precincts to fulfill their delegate allotment to the county convention. The make-up meeting for all precincts shall be held in one central location in the county and shall be properly advertised. In the delegate election process for the make-up meeting, delegate positions shall be filled first from among individuals who attend the meeting in person, then by individuals whose membership is set forth in the poll list of the preceding primary election and/or those who are absent from the meeting but who have submitted the properly signed forms. No member absent from the meeting may cast a vote, but they may be voted for and considered a candidate."

With the New 2025 South Carolina Republican Party Precinct Reorganization Form 1, Mr. McKissick has violated State Law and Party Rules.

If you purposely turn a blind eye to blatant violations of State Laws and Party Rules, do not call yourself a Republican. A Republican is one who obeys the Law, adheres to Rules, abhors corruption at all levels, and seeks ELECTION INTEGRITY.

In addition, according to SC Code of Laws – Title 7 – Chapter 9, Section 7-9-100, “…A temporary president must be nominated and elected by the convention…”

However, at our last State Conventions, Mr. McKissick has violated that Law by handpicking a “temporary president” and ramming him in by subterfuge. This has also happened at many County Conventions.

This anarchistic practice has brought about great turmoil within our Republican Party. Good people, Republicans, throughout the State are furious.

Furthermore, SCGOP Rule 2(e) states: The proceedings of all business, organizational, reorganizational, and committee meetings and all county and state conventions, not covered by these Rules or by enforceable provisions of the South Carolina election law, shall conform to the most recent edition of Robert’s Rules of Order, Newly Revised.

In parliamentary procedure, a division of the assembly or house, is a method of taking a vote that physically counts members voting. Historically, and often still today, members are literally divided into physically separate groups.

At the last several State Conventions, Roberts Rules of Order was trampled upon.

Everything I have stated here applies to many County Conventions.

BECAUSE OF THESE MANY VIOLATIONS OF STATE LAW and PARTY RULES THE SCGOP IS IN GREAT DISARRAY.

For the reasons stated above, and for many others, I am running for State Chair of the South Carolina Republican Party. I will put an end to the madness by simply abiding by the Law and Rules.

I ask for your vote on May 3.
