The next EC from Lexington County should be an upgrade in integrity

With the election for Lexington County GOP state committeeman coming up, it is important to know how some people will serve before casting your important vote for this position.

On the eve of the SCGOP convention in May, the Pickens County GOP was blindsided by a kangaroo court of credentials chairmen from each county and unjustly stripped of their delegation being able to participate in the convention. Lexington’s credentials chairman voted to remove the Pickens delegation.

When I began questioning about this at the next county meeting, Chairman Mark Weber cut off my questioning and a few minutes later they attempted unsuccessfully to censure myself and two others.

Fast forward to a few months later, when 1st Vice Chairwoman Debbie Heim represented Lexington at the SCGOP quarterly meeting and unjustly voted to suspend the Pickens GOP.

And just recently, Chairman Weber represented Lexington at the SCGOP meeting and not only did he unjustly vote to disband the Pickens GOP, he compounded it by passing his own censure motion of the former Pickens Chairman (for doing nothing wrong). Mark loves censuring people.

Not only has the treatment of Pickens been a calamity, it is also fiscally irresponsible. You see, now Pickens will be doing a re-do of their precinct reorganization and convention, financed by everyone who has made a donation or paid any fee to the SCGOP.

The SCGOP will also be running the ReOrg and convention using their resources. And if past behavior repeats itself, the SCGOP will be using your money and resources to support their preferred candidates.

On next Monday, think long and hard about whether this is what we need representing all Lexington County Republicans.
