Troubling report from Beaufort County

Reflections on the Beaufort County Republican Party Convention:

At the BCRP convention, I encountered a couple who, when I asked for their vote for state delegate, returned my information and told me they were “not happy with Trump.” That alone speaks volumes about the current state of the BCRP.

The fact that delegates were refused be acknowledged or introduced let alone the opportunity to speak at all was fundamentally un-Republican. Most newbies didn’t know what was going on and didn’t know who anyone was on ballot. The main criteria the rules Commitee stated for their recommended state delegates was “people who cooperate with BCRP”. In my opinion, the only thing that wasn’t rigged was the parking — everyone had a fair shot at that. Otherwise, the rules were a mess. The ballot appeared rigged, and the rules were shifted without open debate to cover the actions of leadership. Rules were selectively enforced and weaponized. We were not allowed to nominate candidates from the floor, contrary to state party rules.

The entire procedure and decorum were disgraceful. The event was run like a tyrannical operation, with four or more heavily armed guards whose mere movement toward anyone the chair deemed out of order started ominously moving toward - the chair promoted treating those who wished to debate or raise a question, abusively. Anyone who raised a point of order or questioned rule changes was thrown out or shut down. The leadership clearly sought to intimidate anyone perceived as a threat to their narrative or their agenda. It was rude, heavy-handed, and an embarrassment to those who are sincerely working to Make America Great Again.

Something must change — swiftly.

The way this convention was handled poses a serious threat to the foundation of our election system. It undermines election integrity and silences the grassroots voices that are critical to the Republican cause. Election integrity starts local. This subversive type behavior is not aligned with Donald Trumps EO in that the level of subversiveness to due process is a threat to our election integrity

I am praying for exposure, transparency, and accountability regarding what happened.
